Phoneage – LG Windows Phone 7 Revealed!

By Jon | Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 | Comments

Apparently LG is Microsoft’s company of choice to launch the first Windows Phone 7 Series device. Not a lot of spec information yet, but the phone is suspected to having a 3.7 high resolution capacitive touch screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and WiFi. Unfortunately, current Windows Mobile 6 phones such as the HTC Touch Pro 2 or the HTC Diamond 2 are unable to have a software upgrade to Windpws Hone 7. This is because Microsoft has set out a strict set of guidelines for devices to officially carry the “Windows Phone 7″ branding and name. Surprisingly, the almighty and powerful HTC HD2 does not quality. Why? Because it does not have the three main buttons Windows Phone 7 requires.

Various companies and websites are giving away free phones including Telus, Crackberry, and PhoneDog. We’re also giving away an exclusive prize for our YouTube followers. All this and more in this special episode of Phoneage. All of the news articles and video links can be found in the YouTube’s video description.

By TTM | Saturday, February 27th, 2010 | Comments

This video discusses possible features that Apple may be hiding from the public from what may be on the iPad. These are just pure rumors, but there still is very good proof on some of the rumors.

The first rumor is the possibility of some sort of multitasking, maybe in a dashboard form, on the iPad. Kevin Fox from fury.com figured out that the iPads in the iPad promotion videos are missing six core applications which are Stocks, Weather, Voice Memos, Clock, Calculator, and Compass. As Kevin stated, these are apps that “wouldn’t know what to do with 1024 x 768 resolution if you gave it to them. Think about it, why would you need a 10 inch screen to use any of these apps? It is vary possible that Apple will be implementing some sort of a dashboard onto the iPad because of this.

Thanks to some SDK and patent detective work, users have now helped solidify the theory that video calling will be coming to the Apple iPad as well as the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 4G. From the SDK, files helped indicate the video calling feature as well as an image of leaked video “Call and End” buttons. The evidence is more substantial on the iPhone as an image of one of Apple’s patents clearly illustrates a front facing camera, with interactive “swiping” capabilities.

Phoneage – Motorola Devour Gets Reviewed!

By Jon | Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 | Comments

The Motorola Devour gets reviewed by Engadget. The Android powerd aluminum small brother of the Motorola Droid is quite impressive spec wise. Even thought the device doesn’t have the latest and most hardcore tech specs, the Devour can most definitely hold its own in the hands of tech users – and besides, it wasn’t made to compete against say the Nexus One or the HTC HD2. The Devour is an extremely well built and versatile machine for the mid-range market, and was recently featured in a Superbowl commercial starring none other than Megan Fox. The Devour is coming to Verizon in March for $150 on selected plans after a $100 mail-in-rebate. However, for you anxious folk, you can pick it up at BestBuy on February 25th, tomorrow, for $99.00.
